Snacks often get a bad reputation. That’s probably because when most people think of snacks, they think of eating high fat/low nutrition things like potato chips, ice cream, and soda.
But, snacks are actually an important component in a healthy diet, for both adults and children. Increasing nutrient intake, increasing metabolism, and sustaining energy levels are just a few of the benefits of (healthy) snacking.
Around here, we regularly eat healthy snacks like hard-boiled eggs, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Below are some of the other things we enjoy. A lot of the things on the list aren’t the healthiest options. But, because we usually eat well, there’s room for the less-than-perfect options every once in a while.
